Meet Your Therapist
Amy, LMFT
25+ years bridging the gap between psychological insight and the human side of change.
Owner & Founder | Trovare Counseling and Consulting
I'm Amy, and I'm glad you're here.
Whether you and your partner are trapped in exhausting communication cycles, or you're a parent deeply concerned about a teenager who seems to be withdrawing, you don't have to navigate these transitions alone. At Trovare, Amy provides a safe, evidence-based space for couples, teens, families, and individuals to break through negative patterns and heal. With over 25 years of experience as a therapist, educator, and speaker, Amy bridges the gap between complex psychological insights and the "human" side of change. Together, you will work to improve your connections and find a clearer path toward a flourishing life.
Amy believes that while every story is unique, the need for stability during growth is universal. She balances her sessions to ensure clients feel supported during their most difficult challenges while maintaining the momentum needed for real change. To do this, she integrates several evidence-based disciplines such as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, EMDR for trauma processing and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Amy specializes in the "human" side of life's most complex transitions:
For Couples
Amy works with partners facing betrayal, chronic conflict, or the loneliness that comes from a lack of intimacy. She helps you identify the "why" behind your communication cycles, restoring closeness and helping you function as a collaborative team.
For Parents & Teens
For the parent worried about a child who is struggling or pulling away, Amy provides a bridge. She helps teens navigate the pressures of modern life while guiding parents to understand their child's internal world, healing the family bond from the inside out.
For Families & Individuals
From navigating grief, loss, and caregiver pressures to managing anxiety and depression, Amy meets her clients exactly where they are. Whether you are new to therapy or have sought support before, she provides the stability you need to navigate family life changes.
Expertise Rooted in Experience
Amy's perspective as a "researcher-practitioner" is backed by two decades of supporting families in medical and mental health environments. She holds dual Master's Degrees — one in Family and Human Development and another in Marriage and Family Therapy.
