Getting Started
If you are asking that question, it probably is. Therapy is not just for crisis -- it is for anyone who wants to understand themselves better, improve their relationships, navigate something difficult, or grow. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply like something needs to shift.
Yes -- Amy offers a free 15-minute phone consultation for new clients. This is a chance to ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right.

About Amy and Her Approach
Amy holds a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Education and dual Master's degrees -- one in Family and Human Development and another in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her clinical training includes being an EMDR-trained therapist and an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) trained clinician for couples and families. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), providing her with expert-level knowledge in child development and family systems. Additionally, Amy is an established educator and clinical speaker, translating complex psychological insights for community and corporate audiences.
Amy approaches therapy from a relational and systems perspective -- meaning she looks at the patterns and dynamics between people, not just the individual in isolation. She integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and families, EMDR for trauma processing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) for deeper individual work. Her style is warm, direct, and collaborative. She believes real change comes from understanding the "why" behind our patterns, not just managing symptoms.
Amy specializes in working with pre-teens and teens ages 10 and up, and their families. She does not provide play therapy for younger children. If you are looking for support for a child under 10, Amy can provide a referral to a trusted colleague.
Both. While Amy has deep expertise in couples, family, and teen therapy, she also works with individual adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions. If you are unsure whether individual or family therapy is the right fit, the free consultation is a great place to start that conversation.
Fees and Insurance
Session fees vary depending on the type and length of session. Amy offers a free 15-minute consultation for new clients. Please reach out through the contact page or call directly for current fee information. Amy is committed to making therapy as accessible as possible and is happy to discuss your situation.
Amy is currently an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance companies directly. However, she can provide a monthly Superbill that you may submit for potential reimbursement. Because coverage varies widely, Amy recommends calling your insurance carrier prior to your first session to ask about your specific out-of-network mental health benefits.
